Sunset over a lake. Stars are visible in the sky, and a woman sits at the end of the dock

Poem of the Week

Tapestry of Time

there is no such thing

as time as we think of it,

at least according to physics.

Which means,

I guess,

that (lack of) time is irrelevant

when it comes to me and you.

Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself

(but then again, maybe not).

Because if time is a network

of connections spread out

(like space)

and intertwined in a tapestry

then maybe

I can believe in love (at first sight).

And if, in this infinite dimensional space,

we are the only things

that assign those threads meaning

who’s to say

that I’m not already connected to you

from now until forever-

both the way that I’m connected

to the rest of the universe,

and in a way that is

blindingly, (indubitably,) unique?
